PTA of Pakistan issued the updated Regulatory Framework for SRD & Terrestrial IoT Services V1.4, which introduces clarifications and updates to existing provisions governing short-range devices and terrestrial IoT deployments. The framework outlines applicable frequency bands, technical parameters, and usage conditions to minimize interference and promote harmonized operation across services.

Version 1.4 also reinforces compliance obligations for manufacturers, importers, and service providers, including conformity with applicable standards, equipment authorization processes, and market surveillance requirements. The update aims to accommodate the growing adoption of IoT applications across industries while maintaining regulatory oversight and spectrum efficiency.

The revised framework takes effect following its issuance on 18 December 2025 and applies to all relevant SRD and terrestrial IoT equipment placed on or operating within the market.
The official updated regulatory framework can be found here.
