Brazilian Regulator ANATEL have issued a new resolution – Resolução No. 715, de 23 de Outubro de 2019 which will, on 22nd April 2020 revoke Resolution No. 242 of November 30, 2000 and Resolution No. 323, of November 7, 2002.
Key changes introduced by the new resolution are as follows:
- ANATEL will no longer charge a fee for approval of telecommunications products.
- In the case of products requiring re-testing at time of approval renewal, samples will be taken from the local market rather than submitted by the manufacturer.
- Market surveillance measures will be introduced.
The Operational Procedures to support the new Resolution are yet to be published however will also present changes to the current procedure. More details to follow.
