India DoT Updates TEC Standards for SIM and IP Security Equipment

The Indian Department of Telecommunications has announced updates to selected telecom equipment standards through a notice dated April 16, 2026. 
The changes apply to the following TEC standards: 
→ TEC 40162602, covering essential requirements for SIM equipment
 → TEC 34732602, covering essential requirements for IP security equipment

During the transition period, manufacturers and relevant stakeholders may follow either the existing or updated versions of the standards. After July 15, 2026, only the revised standards will remain applicable.
