Indonesia updates LTE and 5G standards (KEPMEN 569/2025)

On 19 December 2025, KOMDIGI formalized Decree No. 569/2025, which amends the previous technical regulation (Circular 352/2024) governing the certification of LTE and NR (5G) products in Indonesia. The updated decree expands the list of supported frequency bands and technical parameters that devices must meet to obtain type approval and access the Indonesian market. Notably, the addition of Band 41/n41 in the new regulation means that products already certified under the older standards will be required to undergo recertification if they intend to activate this band.

The decree is scheduled to take effect on 19 January 2026, giving manufacturers and importers a short transition period to adjust product designs, update documentation, and pursue conformity testing in accordance with the updated technical requirements.

Industry stakeholders anticipate that this move will align Indonesia’s equipment standards with global LTE and 5G norms and facilitate broader network compatibility as operators expand services nationwide.
