New Type Approval Regulation

Jordan Telecommunications Regulation Commission (TRC) has issued a new regulation “Instructions of the Conditions and Procedures for Obtaining Type Approval of Telecommunication Equipment and Regulating their Entry into the Kingdom”. This regulation entered in force on 15th September 2024.
 
The key changes of the type approval process are:
  • Certificate validity is reduced to 1 year instead of 3 years.
  • New Labelling Requirements: The label should include Manufacturer Name, Brand, Marketing name, Model, and IMEI for cellular devices.
  • All products supporting Bluetooth only are exempted from type approval
  • Printers, cameras, Desktop computers without RF features or with radio transmitter with low output power wireless, all are exempted from type approval.
