In line with the newly allocated 5925-6425 MHz frequency band for Short Range Devices (SRDs) under NTC Memorandum Circular No. 002-07-2024 (see our article on this subject here), grantees of Type Acceptance Certificates (TAC) or Grant of Equipment Conformity (GEC) for equipment operating in 6 GHz band are now advised to apply for modification of the corresponding TAC/GEC subject to the following:
- 1. All previously certified equipment affected prior to the entry into force of NTC MC No. 002.07-2024 shall be subject to the issuance of modified certificate (modification).
- 2. Application for modification shall be supported with the following:
- 2.1. Declaration of updated equipment radio specifications.
- 2.2. Copy of the applicable radio test report / certificate prior to the issuance of NTC TAC or GEC appropriate for modification.
- 2.3. Copy of previously issued NTC TAC or GEC to be modified.
The modified certificate shall indicate the additional frequency band within 5925-6425 MHz for short range devices and shall bear the same NTC Certificate Number previously assigned.
