- Expanded Wi-Fi Access: The licence grants access to new frequency blocks, specifically the 5925–6425 MHz and 5925–6585 MHz ranges. This expansion supports the introduction and mass-market operation of next-generation Wi-Fi 6E, Wi-Fi 7, and other indoor Radio Local Area Networks (RLANs).
- New 5G FR2 Band: A new spectrum allocation in the 24.25–25.1 GHz band is now available. This is designated for short-range data communications and certain 5G FR2 applications, specifically for data communications transmitters operating indoors and within controlled premises.
- Millimeter-Wave Range Extension: The upper limit for ultra-high-speed Wi-Fi and RLAN devices utilizing the millimeter-wave spectrum has been extended to 71 GHz, an increase from the previous 57–66 GHz limit. This supports data communications and fixed point-to-point links.
- Formal Radar Band Inclusion: The 76–81 GHz band has been formally incorporated under the Class Licence, thereby authorizing its use for various radar and sensing applications.
Compliance with these updated parameters is paramount for all device manufacturers and suppliers to ensure the continued license-free nature of their operations under the new ACMA framework.
