Extension to Public Consultation on Changes to Spectrum Management Plan

Caribbean Telecoms Regulator ECTEL has announced a change to the commenting period for an ongoing public consultation.

The consultation, announced on 12th of July, is seeking comments regarding a proposed update to the regions National Frequency Allocation Plan to ensure it remains current in the face of 'emerging wireless technologies and services, to ensure that the radio frequency spectrum is utilized in the most efficient manner for both public and private purposes'

The commenting reply period will now run from 18th to the 27th of August 2021

Venezuela Updates Type Approval Certificate Validity Under SIGESTEL

CONATEL, through the SIGESTEL platform, has updated the validity framework for type approval certificates in Venezuela. While certificates issued during the initial SIGESTEL implementation phase were standardized to a one-year validity period, newly issued certificates are now being granted with indefinite validity. Existing certificates will remain valid until their expiry date, after which new applications submitted through SIGESTEL will be issued under the updated framework.
