10-JAN-25

This notice from the China Quality Certification Center (CQC) announces the implementation of new national standards (GB/T 4706.1-2024 and GB 4343.1-2024) for CCC certification of household and similar equipment. The key points are:

New Standards: GB/T 4706.1-2024 will be implemented on 1 August 2026, and GB 4343.1-2024 on 1 June 2026.  GB/T 4706.1 sets the general safety requirements for household and similar electrical appliances, while GB 4343.1 focuses on the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of these appliances, specifically their emissions.

Voluntary Transition: Until the implementation dates, applicants can choose to certify under the old or new standards.

Mandatory Transition: After the implementation dates, only new standard certifications will be issued.

Certificate Conversion: Existing certificate holders must apply for conversion to the new standard certificates by 31 July 2027 (for GB/T 4706 series) and 31 May 2027 (for GB 4343.1). Failure to convert will lead to suspension and then revocation of the old certificates.

Exceptions: Products manufactured and placed on the market before the implementation dates that are no longer in production do not require certificate conversion.

Specific Product Changes: Evaporative cooling fans and portable electromagnetic cookers will have updated certification standards (GB/T 4706.115-2024 and GB/T 4706.14-2024, respectively).

Lab Requirements: Testing laboratories must report their new standard testing capabilities to the CQC.
