New CNCA Digital CCC Requirements

30-MAR-26

As of March 2026, the digital transformation of China’s Compulsory Certificate (CCC) is no longer a future prospect; it is a regulatory reality. Under CNCA Announcement No. 27 (2025), a new "traceability QR code" system has launched to combat counterfeiting and streamline market surveillance.

For any new certifications issued from today onwards within the pilot scope -which specifically targets Power Banks, Electric Bicycles (including batteries/chargers), and Gas Combustion Appliances- products must feature a unique QR code linked to the CNCA database. This code must be placed to the right of the CCC logo, maintain the same height, and be "inseparable" from the mark. When scanned by customs or consumers, it provides real-time data on the certificate status, manufacturer, and model specifications.

While the "old" physical stickers are being phased out in favour of digital generation via the CNCA platform, the transition is staged. If you have existing stock already marked under current rules, you have until 1st March 2027 to complete the transition for all certified products. However, given the complexities of updating mould designs and printing files, we advise against waiting for the 2027 deadline. Ensure your technical files and nameplates are updated now to avoid logistical delays at the border.
