TEC has published draft requirements for E-Band microwave equipment operating in the 71–76 GHz and 81–86 GHz bands.
The draft covers point-to-point links used for high-capacity applications such as enterprise connectivity, small-cell backhaul and short-haul telecom networks.
It includes requirements for FDD/TDD operation, channel bandwidth, adaptive modulation, Ethernet interfaces, synchronisation, EMC, safety and environmental protection. Outdoor units must meet at least IP65 protection, and the equipment should support up to 10 Gbps throughput.
The final configuration, including interfaces, modulation and antenna requirements, will depend on the purchaser’s needs.
