- International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT): The plan identifies the 6425–7125 MHz band for terrestrial IMT, following Region 1 harmonization. Extensive allocations for mmWave 5G are also confirmed, including the 24.25–27.5 GHz and 66–71 GHz ranges.
- WiFi and Wireless Access Systems (WAS/RLAN): While 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz remain core allocations, the plan specifically designates the lower 6 GHz band (5925–6425 MHz) for WAS/RLAN implementation.
- Short Range Devices (SRD) and RFID: Current allocations for inductive applications and RFID (notably 865–868 MHz) remain aligned with European ETSI standards. Manufacturers should review Appendix 2 of the plan for specific power limits and frequency sub-bands.
Technical Restrictions and Coordination
The updated framework places a renewed emphasis on High-Altitude Platform Stations (HAPS) and IMT Base Stations (HIBS) across multiple bands. Manufacturers should be aware of stringent Power Flux-Density (PFD) limits designed to prevent interference between mobile services and satellite systems at national borders. Devices operating under secondary services are reminded that they cannot claim protection from, or cause interference to, primary services.
