The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) has updated the public consultation for Annexure B, Notice 737 of 2021

The main purpose of this public consultation is for the planned amendments of Annexure B - Radio Apparatus exempt from radio frequency spectrum licenses - of the Radio Frequency Spectrum Regulations, 2015.

It covers topics such as security systems, short-range devices, hearing aids, broadband, maximum radiated power, field strength or sensitivity limits, and relevant testing standards for unlicensed frequency bands.

The document also calls out a reminder that all radio apparatus must be type-approved by the Authority regardless of the unlicensed spectrum status.

It was released on the 24th of January, 2022.
