- Wireless In-Ear Monitoring Systems
- Wireless Tour Guide Systems
- Assistive Listening Devices
- Wireless Multichannel Audio Systems (WMAS)
The standard defines specific frequency ranges and power limits that manufacturers must adhere to for compliance. Permitted bands include 88 - 108 MHz, 165 - 210 MHz, 694 - 703 MHz, 748 - 758 MHz, and 803 - 806 MHz. Notably, maximum rated output power varies between 10 mW and 50 mW depending on the frequency band. Additionally, new bandwidth requirements have been established, including a limit of 8 MHz for WMAS devices.
The certification pathway depends on the operating frequency of the device:
- Supplier’s Declaration of Conformity (SDoC): Applicable to devices in the 88 - 108 MHz and 165 - 210 MHz bands.
- Class A Certification (Type Approval): Mandatory for devices operating in the 694 - 703 MHz, 748 - 758 MHz, and 803 - 806 MHz bands.
- Permitted Radio Band: 1880–1900 MHz.
- Maximum Transmitted Power: 250 mW (e.i.r.p.).
- Technical Standards: Compliance with ETSI EN 301 406 (V2.2.1 or newer) is required.
Devices must also meet updated electrical safety standards, specifically IEC 62368-1 or the Thai equivalent TIS 62368 Part 1-2563. This was related to the public consultation period for related draft announcements that concluded on 17 March 2025.
