Canada ISED Issues Procedures for SAR Compliance under RSS-102

 The Department of Innovation, Science and Economic Development (ISED) in Canada has released official procedures for assessing compliance with Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) requirements under RSS-102. These publications follow a public consultation process and were finalized on August 15, 2025.

The newly published documents are: 
  • - RSS-102.SAR.MEAS – Measurement Procedure for Assessing Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) Compliance in Accordance with RSS-102 (Issue 2)
  • - RSS-102.SAR.SIM – Simulation Procedure for Assessing Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) Compliance in Accordance with RSS-102 (Issue 1)

These procedures provide updated methodologies for both measurement-based and simulation-based SAR compliance testing, ensuring alignment with Canada’s regulatory framework for radio equipment.
