MTSFB or The Malaysian Technical Standards Forum Bhd has officially opened to public consultations three technical codes starting this 10th of October 2025 and will end on 9th of November 2025. These covers Free Space Optics – Specifications, Amateur Radio Equipment – Specifications and Satellite Earth Station Terminal – Specifications.
Free Space Optics – Specifications
Applies to all terrestrial FSO communication systems that use line-of-sight optical technology to provide a point-to-point communication link, operating at wavelengths of 850 nm (352.9412 THz), or 1550 nm (193.5484 THz).
Technical Requirement:
- Wavelength (nm): 1550
- Frequency (THz): 193.548 4
- Wavelength (nm): 850
- Frequency (THz): 352.941 2
Both wavelengths will have a
Max output power of 650mW with
test reference to IEC 60825-1 or ANSI Z136.2Technical Code
