Singapore's Ministry of Trade and Industry has announced the transfer of consumer product safety and legal metrology functions from Enterprise Singapore (EnterpriseSG) to the Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore (CCCS). This change follows the passing of the Competition (Amendment) Bill.
The Consumer Product Safety Office (CPSO), which is responsible for the safety of consumer goods (including many radio devices), will now operate under the CCCS instead of EnterpriseSG.
